What is a digital citizen?

A digital citizen is a member of a worldwide community linked by the Internet.

At IBES, Common Sense Media's Digital Citizenship Curriculum is one tool we use to teach students what it means to be good digital citizens.

Being a good digital citizen means:

 

  • You communicate responsibly and kindly with others.

  • Protect your own and others' private information online.

  • Stand up to cyberbullying.

  • Respect each other's ideas and opinions.

  • Give proper credit when we use others' work.

  • Diligent not to pass on fake news.
